Ricky Frausto is a native of Amarillo, TX. He was graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Ricky is continuing his education in pursuit of a Master’s degree in Pedagogy-Coaching.
In 2003, Ricky became certified both as a strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA and a Level I Club Coach through United States Weightlifting. He had been a graduate assistant for 2 years working with Men’s Wrestling and Women’s Swimming and Diving. He became a full-time assistant in 2005. He spent the last two years working with Men’s Football and Men’s Wrestling.
Ricky has either been wrestling or involved with wrestling since 1985. He competed for the University of Nebraska at Omaha where he then stayed on as a student coach (wrestling) for 2 years at the end of his eligibility.
Following his wrestling and sport coaching career Ricky has worked with athletes of every level in performance enhancement, including Division I Hockey, Division II Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis, Golf, and Swimming. He specializes in Wrestling.
Ricky started doing and teaching CrossFit in May of 2007 and CrossFit Omaha became an official affiliate on June 1st. He has a passion for coaching and teaching athletes from all walks of life and CrossFit has given him the perfect vehicle in which to do so.
Ricky is a CrossFit Level II certified coach with certifications in nutrition under Robb Wolf and endurance under Brian McKenzie.
Ricky resides in Omaha, Nebraska with his wife, Crystal. He has two wonderful kids, a 5 year old son, Damian, and a 8 month old daughter, Teagan. He can be reached at crossfitomaha@gmail.com.
